Miss Louisiana 2011 Hope Anderson
to Announce her Official Platform as Miss Louisiana
MONROE, LA, July 22, 2011 - Recently crowned Miss Louisiana 2011 Hope Anderson, a 2010 graduate of the University of Louisiana at Monroe will kick off her year of service and announce her official platform as Miss Louisiana, Pilots for Patients, on Wednesday, July 27th at 11:00 am at the Chennault Aviation and Military Museum. This special announcement is in conjunction with Pilots for Patients celebration of their 1,000 th Mission. Special guests at the event include First Lady Supriya Jindal and many others.
Pilots for Patients is a Louisiana based non-profit organization with volunteer pilots who transport patients to and from medical treatment facilities. "Upon winning my first Miss Louisiana Preliminary competition four years ago, and eager to make the crown count, I joined forces with Pilots for Patients to become their official spokesperson," Hope recounts. "In the four years since, I have seen the impact this organization has had on peoples' lives, providing them hope and compassion in their time of need. Pilots for Patients consists of dedicated people, pilots, patrons, and many partners and volunteers, who each in their own way give the gift of life. I am humbled to be a part of this great organization," said Hope Anderson, Miss Louisiana 2011.
During Miss Louisiana's year of service, she will speak to thousands of school age children all around the Bayou state. She will also have the opportunity to speak at churches, civic organizations, and, she is also the spokesperson for Louisiana Cares for Children and the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. "The Miss Louisiana Organization is proud to team up with Pilots for Patients as they do such a wonderful job in making a difference in the lives of others. Immediately after Hope was crowned Miss Louisiana we could certainly see her heart for this organization," Darris Waren, Miss Louisiana Organization Vice President.
The Miss Louisiana Organization has a volunteer based Board of Directors that works to share the accomplishments of the 35 contestants and provide scholarships to further their education. The Miss Louisiana Organization awarded over $60,000 in cash scholarships and awards this year, and over $900,000 in in-kind scholarships will be made available. The Miss Louisiana Organization is part of the Miss America Organization who offers over $45 million dollars in cash and scholarships annually, making them the number one provider of scholarships to young women in the world.
